Alexandros Kakouris

Alexandros Kakouris studied Physics at the University of Athens (1990). He followed PhD research in Astrophysics and Space Physics (1997). He has taught Space Science and Modern Physics from 1995 to 2001 at the Hellenic Air Force Academy. He has co-authored the Space Physics part of the Hellenic Open University textbook on “Planet Earth”. He also pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Athens and at FOM institute in Netherlands. His research activity in the field (until 2001) involves 9 journal papers, 13 conference papers and 1 popularized article. He is a member of the American Geophysical Union.
From 2004, he was involved in career counseling services at the University of Athens as a coordinator of the university career office. He also pursued postgraduate studies on Distance Learning and Adult Education (2011) at the Hellenic Open University. During this activity, he was involved in issues about the internationalization of higher education studies. He also developed methodologies for tele-career-counseling services.
From 2006 till now, he shifted his research interests to Innovation and Entrepreneurship. His research interests concern entrepreneurial education and learning focused on innovation, reflection and experiential learning. He taught innovation and entrepreneurship from 2007 to 2013 at the Faculty of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Athens. He has published a book in the subject, 2 textbooks for adult learners, and research articles. He has served as a peer-reviewer in journals and conferences and as an external jury member of international PhD dissertations. He is a member of the Greek Adult Education Association and the British Centre for Graduate Entrepreneurship.
